"It's always nice to get that validation, but I had that super, super success when I first came out and it was the height of the pop explosion. At the end of the day, it's really most important that I'm happy with it because it's my self-expression. I would hate myself if I ever made another record that, no matter how successful it is, didn't come from an honest place."
